One of the leading cyber security consultancies accredited via the intelligence services (CESG) and with a number of high profile clients within Central Government, MOD, FTSE 250 commercial companies and some overseas engagements. Much of the work this client undertakes is technical consultancy, specifically Penetration Testing, alongside more strategic cyber security risk assessments.
 
Software Solutions are delivered through its Governance Risk and Compliance software platform Synergy. An active software development road map has been set and the team is expanding to support the implementation of the software to all of its existing and new clients.  


Role Summary:
The Software Developer will join our dynamic agile software development team based at their Head Quarters in Cheltenham. The role requires proven experience developing web based PHP applications in an object oriented manner. The candidate must have a proven track record of working within an agile team, developing and delivering quality code.

The primary responsibility of the role will be to develop PHP code in line with the development guidelines based on the documented business requirements and design artefact's.


Required skills / experience:

  • Commercial experience with object oriented PHP5+ development (3 years +)
  • Experience of XML, HTML and CSS
  • Experience of MVC frameworks, Zend Framework in particular
  • Experience of software design patterns
  • Experience of Javascript and jQuery , including JSON
  • Strong experience with relational databases, in particular MySQL (3 years +)
  • Experience of source code management systems such as Git, Mercurial or Subversion
  • Experience of systems integration technologies, including web services and APIs
  • Good knowledge of all phases of the development lifecycle.

Desirable skills / experience:

  • Experience of using and managing Jira and Confluence software
  • Experience of secure coding techniques
  • Experience of implementing responsive web based designs
  • Knowledge of the Kendo UI Javascript framework
  • Experience of Agile development methodologies - Scrum, Kanban
