UX/UI Consultant

The Role: 

An award winning and leading cyber security and software consultancy accredited via the intelligence services (CESG) and with a number of high profile clients within Central Government, MOD, FTSE 250 commercial companies and some overseas engagements.  Much of the work that the business undertakes is technical consultancy; specifically Penetration Testing and strategic cyber security risk assessments.

My client are seeking ambitous and Experienced Designers/Consultants to join our expanding Software Development Team in Cheltenham.  This is an additional permanent resource that will support an established UX Designer. You’ll be eager to ‘make your mark’ in an agile environment and be a collaborative team player.  You’ll relish the opportunity to use your product development and client side experience, whilst supporting the Software Development and Marketing team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the overall UX and UI design of products and services.
  • Design and develop interfaces that deliver high technical performance and a flawless user experience.
  • Research and keep abreast of new trends in order to deliver the best design solutions.
  • Produce outstanding, creative yet functional design.
  • Design accurate visuals, user flows and wireframes as required.
  • Explain design concepts to other team members and stakeholders and ensure alignment to the brief and brand at all times.
  • Continually review and refine the overall user experience to ensure their changing needs are met.
  • Apply design best practices throughout the full project lifecycle from inception through to launch.

Required skills & experience:

  • An up to date portfolio that showcases your UX and UI experience.
  • Significant experience in User Centred Design (UCD) in a similar role, ideally in an Agile environment.
  • Accomplished visual design and conceptual skills and able to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines.
  • An expert with Adobe Suite.
  • Experience in creating wireframes and mock-ups.
  • A solid understanding of web usability concepts and principles.

Desirable skills & experience:

  • Graphic design experience.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
  • Working knowledge of IA UX software (eg OmniGraffle, Axure).
  • Working knowledge of web standards.
  • Experience of creating prototypes.
