Description: Position Objective Lead sales and operations activities for client organisations – primarily acquisitions of new clients Lead, inspire and coach multi disciplinary project teams Assist definition of overall sales/ account team management within DAS UK. Main Operative Tasks: Leadership Through Example Business Development Is capable of selling work unaided but routinely expands sales opportunities by involving others Able to generate new sales within existing clients, sells extensions and sources new clients in line with business development strategy Able to transfer sector/subject specialism across different clients/sectors Track record in participating effectively in managed account teams. Consulting Capability Shapes and leads assignments such that the entire consultant team can best deliver value to the client Identifies and accesses appropriate skills and resources for an assignment Manages assignments to optimise utilisation, profitability and learning potential Is seen to add value by the quality of advice and depth of expertise. Gains client commitment to deliverables Manages operational, commercial and reputation risks associated with client work. Professional Thought Leadership Creates innovative and breakthrough market insights that lead to significant business opportunities and brings these to clients Is able to apply existing ideas into different companies/sectors Track record in leading service development initiatives Strong reputation in the market place through speaking on conference platforms, publishing in business media and being quoted in the press. People Development Able to provide on-the-job training/coaching. Firm Management and Leadership Engages in firm wide initiatives and leads practice and/or group initiatives Develops an internal network to meet own and organizational objectives Consistently demonstrates discipline and adherence to company policy and procedure. Quantitative Targets (for AP) Focus on results Achieve personal sales of £600k per annum Maintain at least 50% of time on client operating (utilisation target), with remaining time on sales and management activities. Strategic Relationships Internal: Local and Global Defence & Security Practice Local and Global Partner team of Business Transformation Group and other relevant service and industry practices worldwide. External: Key relationships with own network of client organisations Relational contacts with relevant professional associations. Job Requirements Education Academic qualifications gained from a high calibre university MBA desirable, not essential. Work Experience Minimum of 8 years of work experience at the senior management level with line and project management responsibility for c20 or more consultant and client professionals A proven track record of successfully selling high value consulting services locally (UK) and possibly internationally with the ability to comfortably support a team of 12 – 15 consultants, three or four of whom will be Managing Consultant level. Hands-on experience of leading complex consulting assignments, delivering tangible value to clients.
